Bağımsız Cumhurbaşkanı Adayı Serdar Denktaş, “Cumhurbaşkanlığı makamı partili Cumhurbaşkanı’nın yeri değil, Cumhurun Başının yeridir. Orada oturan hoşgörülü ve her kesime eşit mesafede olmalıdır” dedi.
Yeni Bakış Web TV’de Hatice Nazlı Gezer’in sorularını yanıtlayan Bağımsız Cumhurbaşkanı Adayı Serdar Denktaş, Demokrat Parti’den aday olmamasını şu sözlerle açıkladı;
“Cumhurbaşkanı bağımsız olmalı ve partili olmamalıdır. Her partiye eşit uzaklıkta olan ve bunu yaşam biçimi haline getirmiş birisi olmalıdır. Yıllarca böyle bir yaklaşımın altında büyüdüm. Hatta yasaklı günlerde bile çoğulcu demokrasiye inanan birisi olarak, benim ülkemde yasaklı parti olamaz diyerek her türlü girişimi yaptım. Yasaklı partilerin kalktığı bir döneme imza attık.
Vatandaş olsun ya da olmasın bana kim geldiyse yardımcı oldum. Partimin içerisinden bana baskı vardı aday ol diye… 28 yıllık bir partinin 21 yılını Genel Başkan olarak geçirdiğim Demokrat Parti benimle özdeşleşmiştir. Ama Cumhurbaşkanlığı makamı partili Cumhurbaşkanı’nın yeri değil, Cumhurun Başının yeridir. Partili, partisiz herkesin başında olmalı ve kucaklayıcı olmalıdır. Bunlar benim karakterimde var, arkadaşlarıma söyledim ve bağımsız Cumhurbaşkanı adayı olarak yola çıktım. Parti Meclisi de toplanıp bana destek açıklaması yapmıştır.”
“LİDER BOŞLUĞUNDAN DOLAYI SİYASETE VERDİĞİM ARAYA SON VERDİM”
“Ülkedeki lider boşluğundan dolayı siyasete verdiğim araya son verdim” ifadelerini kullanan Denktaş, “Her kesimi kucaklayacak bir adayın bulunamayışı ve halktan gelen baskı, beni aday olmaya itti. Pandemi dönemi ve sonrasında verilen kararların sürekli değiştirilmesi sonucunda da ben yola çıktım” diye konuştu.
“AKINCI FEDERASYONA MAHKUM EDİYOR”
Denktaş, “Cumhurbaşkanı Akıncı, görev yaptığı 5 yıl içerisinde kendi görüşü doğrultusunda çözüm için mücadele etti. Ancak o da gördü ki bu dönemde çözüme ulaşmak mümkün değil. Çünkü Güney’in böyle bir motivasyonu yok. Kendisinin sözüdür; “2016 yılına kadar çözüm olmazsa başka şeyler konuşacağız” diye. Ama gördük ki başka şeyler konuşmak yerine biz federasyona mahkumuz diyerek aynı şeyleri konuşmaya devam ediyor. Kavga etmeyi tercih etti. Dik durmak ile kavga etmek arasındaki çizgiyi aştı. Ama Cumhurbaşkanımızdır. Siyaseten pek uyuştuğumuz biri değil ama makamından dolayı saygısızlığım olmadı. Saygısız olanlara da karşı durdum” dedi.
Bağımsız Cumhurbaşkanı Adayı Serdar Denktaş konuşmasına şöyle devam etti;
“Siyasi parti liderleri durup dururken Ankara’ya çağrılsalar bunun müdahale olduğunu rahatlıkla söylerdim. Ancak talep buradan gidince ne kadar da yanlış bulsam müdahale diyemem. Ama keşke olmasaydı, hiç şık olmadı. Ortalama bir buçuk yılda bir hükümet değişiyor. Bu da büyük bir istikrarsızlık oluşturuyor. Ben Başkanlık sistemini savunanlardanım. Bugüne kadar da hep aynı şeyi söyledim.”
